Trident helps surveyors to become ‘fit for the future’

The annual flagship RICS Building Surveying Conference is the profession’s single most important training and development event, and this year’s conference attracted more than 500 delegates to a programme focusing strongly on the theme of ‘fit for the future’.

Trident provided three speakers and chaired some specialist workshops at this year’s RICS Building Surveying Conference, while William Sharpey, a building surveyor from our London office, chaired the main sessions.

Other parts of the programme included technical breakout sessions addressing various interests, including vital aspects of dilapidations and the growing interest in mediation benefits, the housing standards review and inclusive design considerations, APC expectations for mentors and candidates, plus updates on planning, party wall technical aspects, CDM regulations and the legal issues around letters of intent and contract administration.

The keynote sessions, as always, challenged the profession to think ahead. A special interactive panel session with building surveying and RICS leaders addressed the mounting pressures in skills demand, PII, client pressures and fees in order to find new, practical business solutions.
