Trident was instructed by Deutsche Bank on behalf of Chinese Estates to provide assistance in respect of their proposed acquisition of the Tower 42 complex. Trident assembled a team of experts and carried out inspections over a very short period of time to carry out a due diligence exercise of the Estate which includes the Tower, three office buildings, the Listed Gibson Hall and an independent restaurant. Our involvement included a thorough inspection of the buildings and their services and a review of all the specialist vendor survey information provided including specific reports in relation to the cladding, lifts and other building services.
Tower 42 (the old Nat West tower) is an iconic city landmark building dating from 1972. The building was damaged by the IRA action in Bishopsgate in 1993 which much of the external work fabric was replaced.
