Party Wall and Neighbourly Matters

The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 needs to be considered for nearly all new developments as well as for many refurbishments and redevelopments of existing properties in England and Wales.

Trident’s experts can guide you through the necessary legal framework involved with identifying neighbours, assessing the notices requiring service and the entering into negotiations with neighbours and their surveyors to create the awards needed before certain works proceed.

At the same time we can provide help and assistance with other neighbourly issues in relation to, for example, licences for scaffolding or crane oversail and Rights of Light.

It is often the case that owners are on the receiving end of notices served by neighbours. Again, Trident’s experts can represent your interests here to ensure that you are not unduly inconvenienced by any development of neighbouring land or buildings.
