Protecting our heritage

Trident are delighted to have been appointed by one of our long-term clients to provide specialist advice for one of their listed properties in Petersfield, Hampshire.  The property was originally built in the late 1500s and was one of the first lending libraries in the region.  Today it is leased as a restaurant and Bristol Director, Craig Keogh, as our specialist building conservation expert, was drafted across country to carry out an inspection of the property and provide a detailed reinstatement cost assessment for insurance purposes.

“Properties like these need an incredibly detailed understanding of the regional construction techniques of the time, and require a thorough investigation into how they have been altered through the years such that we can provide the most appropriate advice that aligns with listed building statute, the historic fabric we are trying to preserve and, dare I say it, the commercial interests of the owners.  This is an onerous undertaking and I am fortunate to have significant experience in the field, not least as a member of the society for the protection of ancient buildings.”
