Trident undertook the role of designer, Contract administrator and CDM Co-ordinator for the implementation of essential life cycle maintenance, repair works and refurbishment to a number of investor owned student residences in the west end of Glasgow.
The initial project includes improvement work to ensure compliance with the Houses in Multiple Occupation Order, improvement to internal accommodation including renewing kitchens, upgrading to bathroom facilities, redecoration, floor coverings and improvements to infrastructure. Subsequent to the initial project, further phases have been undertaken and Trident has developed a close working relationship with Glasgow Student Villages and also the sister organisation, Dundee Student Villages.
The accommodation provides bed spaces for close to 3000 students during term time and all works are implemented during the summer recess. It is essential that all works are accurately programmed and co-ordinated to ensure completion during the summer vacation period, with the blocks ready for occupation at the start of term time.
