Sustainability

Trident has adopted a holistic approach to sustainable development.  By achieving Carbon Neutral Status we have adopted procedures to ensure we set targets and measure to ensure we make the most efficient use of resources including staff, travel, water and energy.

However we recognise that our main impact on the community and future generations is through the building and development projects we design and manage for our clients.  Therefore, we have achieved accreditation under ISO 14001 and have adopted procedures to assist our clients in realising sustainable development.  We achieve this by 1) helping the client and the design team to minimise any negative environmental or social impact of a project through careful development of the design, 2) by appropriate selection of materials and also 3) by promoting effective waste management of every project.

In order to achieve sustainable development it is important that the intentions are confirmed early in every project.  Therefore Trident’s procedures require our surveyors to confirm to the project team at the client briefing stage the intention to achieve either a minimum BREEAM rating of Very Good or alternatively for office refurbishment and fit out projects, a Ska Silver Rating unless the client instructs for a higher or perhaps lower rating.  In addition our design team members will be required to ensure that all products and materials are obtained from the Green Guide to Specification (BRE) and all specifications will include requirement for a waste management plan.

We consider these practical measures to enable Trident and our clients to produce environmentally friendly and energy efficient buildings and Trident to confirm our holistic approach to sustainable development.
