Trident undertook stock condition surveys to a number of investor-owned student residences in Dundee in order to provide strategic advice on short term corrective maintenance and repairs and medium to long term cyclical maintenance and repairs. This included the building structure, internal and external fabric and finishes. Trident then undertook the role of Designer, Contract Administrator and CDM Co-ordinator for the implementation of essential life cycle maintenance, repair works and refurbishment works.
The initial project included improvement work to ensure compliance with the Houses in Multiple Occupation
Order, improvements to internal accommodation including renewing kitchens, upgrading to bathroom facilities, redecoration, floor coverings and improvement to infrastructure. Subsequent to the initial project, further phases have been undertaken and Trident has developed a close working relationship with Dundee
The accommodation provides bed spaces for close to 3,000 students during term time and all works are implemented during the summer recess. It is essential that all works are accurately programmed and co-ordinated to ensure completion during the summer vacation period, with the blocks ready for occupation at the start of term time.
