Scope of works
Trident were appointed to inspect and report on the four cupolas of this Grade II* Listed historic building, in order to assess their condition and the potential causes of reported water penetration.
Our inspection required the co-ordination of a structural engineer, a timber preservation specialist and a thermographic survey, together with a contractor to arrange for scaffolding to be erected internally. Our external inspections were undertaken over two weekends off a cherry picker and followed detailed internal inspections.
We produced internal and external drawings to identify points of water ingress and associated defects and potential leak points. We also scheduled the repairs required to the external stonework and produced a detailed cost plan for the works. Subsequent meetings were held with the client to prioritise the works.
